Stewed Apple Recipe
It is hard to make a decision whether stewed apples are better served as a dessert or a side dish. Stewed apples are yummy when serve hot with vanilla ice cream for dessert. 1)1 3/4 pounds apple
2)1 1/4 cups water
3)3/4 cups granulated sugar
4)1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5) Seasonings; cinnamon, cloves, or nutmeg to taste
Get ready the apples. Peel and core the apples, but do not slice them. Leave the apples whole.
Mix water and sugar together in a large pan. Place the pan over high heat. Bring the mixture in the pan to boil. Then lower the heat to medium. Put in vanilla extract and any seasonings you wish to use. Stir the mixture thoroughly.
Place the apples in a single layer on the bottom of the pan. Make sure the liquid mixture in the pan cover the apples completely.
